Does Insurance Cover HRT?
Compounded hormones are generally not covered by insurance, as they are not FDA-approved drugs. Commercially available testosterone (AndroGel, Axiron) and estradiol patches (Vivelle-Dot, Climara) may be covered by insurance when prescribed for approved indications — but these are brand-name products at higher cost.
FSA and HSA funds may be applicable for consultation fees and labs. Check with your plan administrator.
